Just getting the finishing touches together for my exhibition stand, I have a few more samples influenced by trends for 2010 that I will be showing this weekend along with a totally new style for showcasing my work. I can't wait to see what the feedback and comments are going to be - hopefully positive!

I am passionate about design and today I decided to take the Handmade Pledge which is an independent organisation which supports both crafters and small businesses who believe that hand made is best. Not only from an environmental view point, I think especially when it comes to something as exciting and wonderful as your wedding that why should couples not have handcrafted, unique stationery and dressings that have been made by a person who loves what they do - just like me !

I have noticed that recently a few of my brides have chosen the exquisite, sophysticated designs by Jenny Packham. I love all things retro and I am a big lover 1920's and 1930's designs and I have noticed that her next collection is heavily influenced from a more glamourous era.

The Exclusive Wedding Event 22nd - 23rd August 2009

I have been thinking about changing the design of my set for the Autumn Wedding Fayres - something that shows my own style and personality and begins to stamp my companies image.
I hope that over time that my stands will evolve but not to give to much away I am going for a more shabby chic and luxury influence to display my work.
Certainly a love of mine is browsing little boutique shops and antique markets looking for inspiration and looking for that something that says ' Sticky Fingers Designs' style.
My business logo and colours will not change I simply love the colour combination of duck egg blue and chocolate brown.

Plans for 2010

I am ever looking to offer my clients a more personal and unique service.
I am looking from 2010 offering my couples on the day wedding organisation / venue set - up, this is something that I have been doing more and more of this year and I love, love, love dealing with the venues and the wedding co-ordinators and setting up my couples venue. I have done everything from chair covers and bows to full table dressing.
I am beginning to know the layouts and contacts at some of the major wedding venues in central Scotland which is invaluable when helping my clients with on the day design.
I also am looking into the possibility of providing the hire of chair covers and ties for the summer season 2010 which can be included with stationery orders or just as a individual service.
I will of course keep everyone updated regarding any new services that I will be able to provide.

Due to recent lifestyle changes I now will be open for business at my studio Monday to Friday
9.30am to 4pm. Consultations can be made in advance by prior arrangement for evening and weekends.
All phonecalls and emails will be answered within 24 hours.

Where has the summer gone ?

I can't believe that summer is nearly over and Autumn is nearly with us.
It seems so long since I last updated my blog this is due to both good things happening with the business but sadly bad news on a more personal front.
I suddenly became very ill 10 weeks ago without any warning, however, together with great care from my family, good support from my local hospital and doctors I am now well on the the road to recovery. I will be medicated long term but it is a small price to pay to allow me to fulfill my dream of running my own bespoke design business.
To all the couples who have supported me through the last few months I thank you for your patience and good wishes. My sincerest heartfelt apologies to the few client whose orders had to be cancelled during my lowest point, I wish every one of my couples a wonderful wedding day and a lifetime of love and happiness.
The enforced time off allowed me to evaluate my life and I decided to resign from my 11 year customer service job which I carried on part time while I have built the business. I now can devote all my energies into growing the business and giving my clients the wonderful attention that they deserve.
